Most years I don’t buy a new phone.
When my five year old trusty galaxy s10e died I bought the reconditioned pixel 8.
I bought it because of previous good experience with Google phones, the excellent camera reviews, Google promise of seven years of os updates and good sale price.
I do the best I can to minimize Google data expropriation.
I’m very happy with the phone.

Really love my pixel 8, which I bought to replace my pixel 3 after they stopped sending updates. Comfortable to hold, takes great pictures, and has an easy to understand settings app. I like that is has both a Sim card slot and an eSim availability. Bought from CellResell came unlocked and in perfect shape. Unwilling to buy a pixel 9 at the price point they were selling at but this was a great choice and saved me lots of money.

In perfect condition. For a refurb I would think it’s brand new. Not sure why the negative reviews. Works perfectly. Was unlocked. Connected easily with my atnt sim. All the great features that come with pixel. Everything as advertised.

I have destroyed so many expensive smart phones over the years that I finally wised up to the “refurbished” or “renewed” models. When you buy a new device that is defective and needs to be replaced, you get a refurbished device back. Same if you have the damage insurance. Why not start with refurbished/renewed to save the money and the trouble.
This Pixel8 replaces my perfectly functional Pixel4 that Google trashed in their ridiculous “update.” They offered a repair or $100 off a brand new device… OR $50 cash. Guess which one I took. Anyway, the Pixel8 is a tremendous improvement over the 4. Lots of updated security features and a lot more memory. All these devices have so much to hate or love so you have to just find something that mostly works for you. And renewed is at the right price!

Good phone but priced higher than what it is worth.

Replaced earlier model Pixel for my daughter who also enjoyed the experience with Samsung. She felt like it gives her greater flexibility and less tracking than Apple.
