Phone unlockability:
Very scared to order a phone and not have a guarantee from my carrier that the phone is supported.
after cross referencing the phone’s bands with Mint Mobile’s on FrequencyChecker, I was still a bit unsure if they would still support it.
Glad to say that the phone worked flawlessly, as simple as swapping the sim out.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:
This is best phone in the Galaxy A series line up that is able to support Micro-sd cards (up to 2tb)
Microsd support is non negotiable for me.
Functionality:
The fingerprint sensor on the power on button is great. The notch is really not an issue, videos play fine. One UI 7 with the seperated quick actions and notification centers is still an adjustment for me, but the notch serves well in defining the areas where you would trigger these gestures. There is also a thicker bottom bezel, but i figure its one of my compromises, as much as i would like an edge to edge screen.
Build quality:
The phone was actually in an insane condition to be a ‘refurbished item’. usually most of the items i find on there have dings or chips on them, regardless of their excellent rating. Actually a phenomenal vendor for the 2nd hand market.
Value for money:
For $200 I was able to move from my 7 year old Galaxy S9+, jumping over 5 version updates of Android, and 3 years of lack of device support and security. If you have any type of phone that is as dated as mines was, I fully and completely recommend this device or similar devices if you find that they meet your needs.
